Choose You This Day Whom You Will Serve

Matthew 6:26(MSG) Look at the birds, free and unfettered, not tied down to a job description,
careless in the care of God. And you count far more to him than birds.
Not tied down to a job description.  We are born with a purpose.  That purpose is your job description. When you work for God,  you don't always know where he's gonna take you. But the choice is always yours as to who you will serve.
Joshua 24:15(NKJV) And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”
¹⁶ So the people answered and said: “Far be it from us that we should forsake the Lord to serve other gods; ¹⁷ for the Lord our God is He who brought us and our fathers up out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage, who did those great signs in our sight, and preserved us in all the way that we went and among all the people through whom we passed. ¹⁸ And the Lord drove out from before us all the people, including the Amorites who dwelt in the land. We also will serve the Lord, for He is our God.”
¹⁹ But Joshua said to the people, “You cannot serve the Lord, for He is a holy God. He is a jealous God; He will not forgive your transgressions nor your sins. ²⁰ If you forsake the Lord and serve foreign gods, then He will turn and do you harm and consume you, after He has done you good.”
²¹ And the people said to Joshua, “No, but we will serve the Lord!”
²² So Joshua said to the people, “You are witnesses against yourselves that you have chosen the Lord for yourselves, to serve Him.”
And they said, “We are witnesses!”
²³ “Now therefore,” he said, “put away the foreign gods which are among you, and incline your heart to the Lord God of Israel.”
²⁴ And the people said to Joshua, “The Lord our God we will serve, and His voice we will obey!”
²⁵ So Joshua made a covenant with the people that day, and made for them a statute and an ordinance in Shechem.

The title of this passage is "The Covenant at Shechem".  This is a Covenant which Joshua made with the family of Israel(Jacob-Genesis 32:28).

Welfare to Low Income

Please. Why such foolishness. Food Stamps and Welfare look at the household income, and household size.  They don't look at whether you are married or not.  And they are supposed to be temporary resources, until you can do better.  I mean, if you have children, and the man isn't bringing any money into the household because he can't get work, and the woman doesn't want to leave her children in the hands of another, this is a temporary resource, until he can find work that can boost his income so he can support his family.  It's not supposed to be long term.
To think that this money will continue forever to give you money to go on vacations, and fine restaurants is ludicrous. You only get a small amount, so why would you want to continue to let the government dictate what you can eat and what you can do with your money.  Each of us have to learn to tap into our entrepreneurial spirit that God gave us.

to not be so preoccupied with getting, so you can respond to God’s giving.

Got a request by some Hollywood Scout to use my parents' home in a movie. I declined because the movie was about the murder of a porn star in Los Angeles, in the 70's. He said they would have to come into the house and take photos of the inside of the house, and I didn't want that spirit in my house, especially when I have my 2 daughters living here. My mother doesn't understand this "spirit" thing, but I do. I couldn't allow it. Anyway, get back to suicide in the entertainment industry. Turns out there are many YouTube videos on the "mind control" and just plain control of what comes out of Hollywood. With Lil Wayne saying he's fed up with only doing songs about "thug life" and asking for prayer so he can get out of the contract he's in. From explanations of Katy Perry's music video Wide Awake revealing the results of mind control methods used in Hollywood and what Miley Cyrus was reacting to when she cut her hair and came out saying she loves smoking week. Lord, we are in the End Times. But if this Mind-Control thing is true, it has reached probably all actors and actresses, comedians, and musicians in Hollywood. Dave Chappell, Martin Lawrence, to name a few comedians. Mylie Cyrus, Katy Perry musicians. The creativity is gone, and all they have now is profit-motives. No wonder all they have now is murder mysteries, sitcoms about the Gay lifestyles, and vampires - all dark topics. To find out the butterfly can be used as a trigger to get someone conditioned under mind control methods to do what they want them to do. Then the movie "Transformers" actually is about satan vs God's angels. Irla
